Okay, I love bookshelves right, but I hate that when I get one, all my collectibles get lost towards the back or I have wasted room.
Okay, so here is my idea.
Imagine a bookshelf like what Walmart sells, one of those 6-foot tall bookshelves with 5 shelves. It's about 1 foot in depth and about 2 and a half feet wide.
Now that you can imagine that, cut the bookshelf in half- Making the 1 foot in depth bookshelf 6 inches now. Now, put roller feet on the bottom with locking wheels and hinges, maybe about 5 along one side. One the other side have two to three locks. The backside, the backboard, has an extra backboard, that can slide in and out of place or the backboards can be taken off altogether.
To lock the bookshelves in place when open, a wooden dowel can be put in two locations along the middle areas to slide in place making it hard to open the bookshelf.
Now, this makes the bookshelf double on space and can close up and lock again.
I don't know, someone may have already created it, but how awesome would this be?
I love having extra space and again, I feel that 1-foot depth is just wasted, You can put your photos, collections, crystals, artwork, smaller books, all in one place!
Even sometimes, smaller homes, putting a big thing like that would be too much space, having the chance to double your space and not waste your ground area is also nice.
If you go to make one, show me how it turns out! I really want one! And don't forget to credit my idea if they don't have one anywhere. I keep trying to convince my husband to make one, I can totally see it in my head but have no idea how to even begin to build it from scratch.
What do you think?
